The Negro American League began play in 1937 playing a split season. The Kansas City Monarchs (KCM) won the first half-championship in NAL history while the Chicago American Giants (CAG) won the second half. The two teams met in a best-of-nine playoff series with the Monarchs winning in seven games, 5-1-1.
After finishing their playoff, the Monarchs and American Giants joined forces for a barnstorming tour against an NNL team composed primarily of the champion Homestead Grays. Box scores for the four games of that series for which we have found box scores can be found here.
